ADVANCED OPEN WATER COURSE

PREREQUISITES: PADI Open Water Diver or equivalent,

MINIMUM AGE: 12 years of age prior to start of course.

REQUIRED MATERIALS: PADI Adventures in Diving-Advanced Training for Open Water Divers Student Kit, Video and a photo. The photo must be turned in to the instructor prior to the dives. (Photo is to be ID size, coin machine photos are O.K.)

REQUIRED EQUIPMENT: In addition to basic scuba and snorkeling equipment, each student must have the following: compass, underwater light, timing device, divers knife/tool, whistle, and a chemical light. It is recommended but not required that you also have a back-up light. Basic Scuba equipment is available for rent.

ASSIGNMENTS: Students must read the chapters pertaining to the dives that will be completed during the course. These will include, Navigation and Deep, as well as three elective dives to be determined by the instructor. The Knowledge Reviews for each of these chapters and the SCUBA Tune-up must be completed prior to the dives and will be reviewed during the briefing for each dive.

SCHEDULE: The Advanced Open Water Course consists of five dives completed over two days.
The course is scheduled to be completed in a single weekend with three dives on Saturday and two dives on Sunday.
